Ariana Grande - 'Focus' with Galaxy Note 5
Ariana Grande has a new music video for her new single 'Focus'.
Grande released both the song and music video on the 29th of November 2015, a little ahead of schedule, after the anticipated countdown.
The video makes use of a range of shots such as close up shots of the artists eyes and lips singing along to the song. The song is deep and funky with busy woodblocks and cowbells percussion and honking horns. The song features a voice over of Jamie Foxx saying 'Focus on me'.
What I particularly like is the use of background colour and studio lighting to create a specific lighting. There is also flashing light which goes along with the beat and rhythm of the song. The artist and other back up dancers move along to the beat.
The artist and back-up dancers are seen using the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 phone in the video to take pictures (selfies) and then writing 'focus on me' across the screen. This helps to market and advertise the phone, as it promotes the features that can be found on the phone.
The costume is very 'showgirl' style, which does accompany the feel and look of the video. There is a lot of dancing that is seen in the video, so this kind of outfit is suitable for the genre and style of the video. Although this isnt the kind of costume we would want for our video, the colour of the costume and how it assists the rest of the video is a factor that I think my group and I would need to take into consideration when picking out our costumes.
